Music Venue
If you would like to hear some live music being performed then your local music venue is likely to have a variety of different bands are artists performing in the near future that you will be able to go and watch. Most towns will have at least one music venue where performers can play. In some cases this venue may only be the upstairs room of a pub, however there are many pubs in and around the UK that have developed an excellent reputation for live music and have played host to some quality acts.
Large and well established musicians are unlike to play at a pub and their concerts will usually take place at a large purpose built music venue. Many old concert halls and theatres are now used venues where bands and musicians can play. Some of the largest and most popular concerts will take place at arenas such as the NEC in Solihull, near Birmingham. The NEC is a complex of large halls and it has been used as a music venue on many occasions. Bands undergoing a particularly large tour will often play concerts at massive areas such as the NEC.
However, many music fans prefer to visit a smaller music venue due to the highly impersonal nature of massive concerts. In some cases a world famous band will play a surprise of secret gig at a small music venue so that their fans can enjoy a more intimate show.
